Club Notice

Dear members of Astwood Bank Cricket Club,

As you may have seen, the ECB have released guidance for the use of nets and training facilities during the Covid-19 situation. This is great news as it means our members may be able to participate in some cricket training, following the guidance closely.

Please note that due to the ongoing costs of maintaining our club the committee would like members to pay their membership subs as requested in the previous club communication. It is important that all members understand the club is itself going through a very challenging financial time as all income has seized; for the club to continue to thrive it is imperative that members still contribute to the running of the club.  However, The Committee recognise that due to the current situation, some of our members may find themselves in challenging financial positions. If that is the case, just contact a committee member and the club will work with you so your cricket continues.

As a club, the safety of our members is our paramount priority. We have undertaken a risk assessment of our facilities and capability to hold training, which adheres to the ECB requirements. The risk assessment and ECB checklist are available to be viewed by members upon request.

Members should make themselves aware of the following conditions and follow them strictly:

• Net slots must be booked on the Wix app prior to arrival.

• The slots are 30 minutes in total (20 minutes for training and 10 minutes to arrive and leave safely).

• The club must only be entered via the main entrance.

• The nets are for use by members of ABCC only (this does include the parents of junior players).

• Only nets 1 & 4 can be used.

• Social distancing of at least 2m must be maintained at all times.

• Training can only take place with two people in a net (unless all in net are from the same household).

• Members are encouraged to bring their own equipment down and not to share equipment (including balls).

• No sweat or saliva is to be used shining the balls.

• The clubhouse and toilets are not available for use.

• Members are requested to wash their hands before coming to the club.

Please note that if it is found these rules are not being adhered to, the committee may make the decision to once again close the nets.

We hope you and your families are keeping well and staying safe during these unprecedented times. Hopefully we will be able to see you back at the club before too long.

Yours sincerely,

Tom Harris
