📝Paul Stokes - Wow what a season, County League Division Champions!

We pride ourselves on the team spirit and togetherness which is obvious to see in games and even training.

This group love their cricket, almost 100% turnout every week for training regardless of the weather, always putting themselves forward to play games, ad-hoc net sessions & 121 sessions, so it’s no fluke that every single player has improved this season with the hard work that has goes.

We stepped up to play full 11 a side this year for the first time, only losing 2 games in the season, winning the league with 2 games to spare. The group maybe fed up of ‘dot ball’ repeatedly being said by us coaches!

Our second game we went away to Avoncroft fired up to win, & that we did by 1 run which went down to the last ball with Jake bowling the death over holding his nerve to see us over the line, after this we never looked back and the wins kept coming.

We made some of the biggest winning margins we have ever seen as a team.

Adam & Ellis served up several maximums of 50 not out, Zac getting to grips with the pace of our bowlers, Toby, Ben & Stefan whizzing balls in at real pace scaring the life out of batters, Finn, KP, Albie, Harvey & Jake keeping us in games with intelligent bowling slowing down the run rates and picking up wickets. Debuts for Madison, Albert, George, Niamh, Lydia all of whom are now 100% part of our squad and contributed to a successful season buying into our team spirit.

I couldn’t not mention that top of the table game away against Belbroughton where we bowled and fielded for our lives restricting them to just 80 runs, every single player of the 11 played an important part.

We need to thank Spud in particular and the Monday training crew for the work put into training.

We will all enjoy some time off come back fully charged for winter training, ready to do it all again next season.
