Our junior season starts tomorrow (Monday 12th April). It looks set to be a very busy summer and Covid guidelines will again be generating lots of extra work for the club's volunteers. Here are just a few of the ways you can help to make this season and beyond a success at Astwood Bank CC.
1. Each of our junior teams have team managers and coaches that need support to make sure all training sessions and matches are safe, enjoyable and productive. Speak to them to find out how you can help.
2. Join our coaching team and start your journey to become a fully qualified cricket coach. We are always delighted to welcome new volunteers to help at our sessions and the club supports its coaches to achieve their qualifications:
3. Become an All Stars or Dynamo’s Activator and be involved in your child's cricket activities from the very start. Our youngest members love it when their grown up’s get involved, so why not sign up to become an Activator or let your Activator know that you would like to be a regular helper at these sessions. Whether you are out there in the field throwing balls or making a round of tea and coffee’s, you can play a part in making Thursday’s special :
4. Become a Hanbury project helper. All of our junior teams will play at our second ground over at Hanbury at some point in their lives. Over the winter a beautiful new clubhouse has been built but we really need your help to complete the build. If you would like to help please join the WhatsApp group for the latest updates :
5. Become an umpire or a scorer. Over a hundred junior games will be played this summer and every single ball that is bowled needs an umpire to adjudicate it and a scorer to record it. Why not test yourself with an ECB course and then surprise your team manager by volunteering at your next game.
6. Contact Andy Alexander (Boys)- a.g.alexander@hotmail.co.uk or Martin Ward (Girls) Martin81ward@me.com with any questions or offers of help you may have.
