Volunteers week day 4 - George Underhill

There are some of our volunteers that are a bit harder to spot during the season. George falls into this category. That's because when we are all at work or school he's busy rolling and mowing to make sure Hanbury is a fitting second ground for ABCC. Dozens of matches take place there every season now and almost everyone in the club has played a game there at some point. So we all owe George a big thank you (if you can spot him!).

'George Underhill age 73.

I have been associated with the club for about 12 years, initially because my son, Tom, joined the Club when he was about 10 and went to school at Ridgeway.

I've been helping at Hanbury for about 6/7 years,  since retiring from work.Up until last year my role at Hanbury was to assist with rolling the pitch. Since Simon came to the club last year I've also been cutting the outfield.

There are always a host of jobs to be done at both grounds so the more volunteers the better  - lots of people just giving  an hour or two a week would mean the burden would be taken off the handful of people who get involved with everything.

Cheers, George '
