This is the first mother/daughter combination of our Volunteers Week feature. The Women's section of the club has grown so significantly in recent years that we now have a Women's 2nd XI for the first time in the clubs history.
Lucy has managed our current Under 15 team through their junior years and many of that team are now transitioning into senior cricket at ABCC. Without the group having a team manager that just wouldn't have been possible.

How are you associated with the club ?Daughter plays junior and senior cricket.
How many hours a week do they dedicate to the club - this can vary, on average 3hrs week arranging/rearranging fixtures. Lots more hours taxing Madison to games or training.
What is your role at ABCC? - U15 girls Manager and Astwood Bank Divas player.
What do you like about being a volunteer at ABCC? Knowing I am arranging games for the girls and my small contribution helps strengthen the club as a whole.
If more people at ABCC became involved as volunteers how would that help the club? Volunteers are the backbone of any club and without volunteers the club will regress.
*Special plea - we are always looking for more players to join the Astwood Bank Divas. Come join us at Wednesday evening training.

Maddie is one of the shining stars of our junior section, a regular performer for the Women's team and mixes it with in the 4th XI on a Saturday too. She is a good player, we like good players at Astwood Bank CC. Most importantly of all Maddie is a great member and we really, really like those at ABCC. From coaching to kit sales she regularly puts her hand up to do things for the benefit of others at ABCC and we salute you for that Maddie, never change.

Why are you associated with the club? I wanted to join a club which had good role models in ladies cricket, Clare and Jess. Aspersions this year are to get promotion to the premier division, contributing towards that myself.
How many hours a week do you dedicate to the club? 2hrs every week supporting coaching of the u11 girls and playing/training 3-4 times a week.
What is your role at ABCC? - U15s girls captain, ladies 1st team and Saturday 4ths team player. I also currently support coaching the U11 girls. I have volunteered at other events to raise money for the club, ‘nearly new’ kit sale and ‘sweet stall’ at the bonfire night.
What do you like about being a volunteer at ABCC? Meeting new people outside of my age group. Getting to know the younger girls, supporting and helping their development in cricket and hopefully become a role model to them.
If more people at ABCC became involved as volunteers how would that help the club? We would be able to offer more.'
