Volunteers Week day 4

Mark Shurmer age 59. I scored my first game in 1975 and I have been involved ever since (apart from a short time at REDDITCH CC). I am keen fan of cricket, but most of all I love being associated with such a fantastic community organisation where I have made many lifelong friends.  My role is first team scorer, a role that has expanded over the years to include statistics and administration. I am involved all day on virtually every Saturday throughout the summer (and many Sundays too). I think that if more people became involved as volunteers they would enjoy their time as much as I do and this would expand our work as a community club. It would also mean that existing volunteers would be able to focus more on their roles.

This almost lifelong association began when I went for a bike ride with a school friend and happened to pass the club during a midweek tour game.
